Product strategy, design, and development — 12 years in the work, since October 2015, with skin in every outcome.
Most software gets handed off in pieces — strategy to design, design to engineering, engineering to QA. I carry it through myself — accountable for the outcome, not just my piece of it.
I help you figure out what to build and why, before you build it. Research, framing, prioritization — grounded in real constraints.
Design that's grounded in how real people work. From UX research through interaction design — not handed off, but seen through.
From user stories to functional testing, I stay accountable to the end. I've helped deliver $10M of work across industries — I know what it takes to ship.
Every engagement moves the same way: start small, prove real value fast, then build on what works. No year-long roadmap before anything ships.
Understand the business first — what it needs, what's blocking it. Then research the technology and the people: contextual inquiry, real jobs to be done, not just requirements.
Discovery narrows into a specific outcome, and every part of the problem space that has to move for it to happen.
A prototype tests the idea two ways at once — does the technology hold up, and does it create real value for people. It's also where we define how we'll know it's working.
What proves out gets built for production. The relationship doesn't end at launch — refine, scale, and take on the next problem together.
Since October 2015. Twenty-five engagements. A few you'll recognize.
Led design across an admin portal, airline configuration experience, and passenger Wi-Fi portal. Then transitioned into Delivery Manager to see the platform through to launch.
Led the vendor experience design team and the design system governing all three product surfaces — vendor, customer, and internal associate — all in production.
Embedded for months before touching a product. Built a new UX delivery process, then designed two clinical products and a design system — research through to vision and production-ready design.
I own the end-to-end delivery of production software for my clients — from contract negotiations to functional testing, from innovation programs to user stories. I started as a UX researcher and designer, led design teams, then moved into delivery management to get here — and I'm still hands-on, writing code and building product myself.
I built Theo Thompson Co. on what 12 years of doing that work teaches you — distilled into something any company can access. You get a collaborator who's as invested in your users and your outcomes as you are.
No pitch. No deck. Just a conversation about your problem and whether I can help. 30 minutes.
